"So, we've been drafted as shelter workers. Now what?": Hurricane Shelter Management Basics for Library Staff

This session will introduce the advantages of libraries volunteering to run hurricane shelters semi-independently, compared to default en masse county deployment. Presenters will teach best practices for "before the storm" preparations, registration and intake, assignment of space, scheduling, conflict resolution, communications with emergency personnel, handling unexpected situations, and shelter deactivation.
