OCLC resource sharing lunch and learn: how cooperation facilitates freedom
Presenters: Scott McCausland, OCLC Executive Director, US Public Library Services. Mary Miller, Library Consultant
The theme of this year's FLA conference—Florida Libraries: Fundamental to Freedom—connects directly back to libraries, their mission, and the the 40+ years of innovation, commitment, and vision that OCLC and its members bring to resource sharing. We know that no library can hold every item its users will need. This means that the freedom for people in some communities to learn and grow will depend on libraries down the road or across Florida and the world. More than 10,000 libraries leverage data in WorldCat to lend and borrow through OCLC to help each other succeed. Join us for this lunch-and learn session and hear about recent advancements in resource sharing. Mary and Scott will also catch you up quickly on what's "new and news" for OCLC across other services, research, and professional development activities. v
