This year, Caridad Moro-Gronlier was appointed as the second Poet Laureate in Miami-Dade County's
history. Caridad, a career educator and community-driven poet, is the author of three books of poetry, including Tortillera, the winner of the TRP Southern Poetry Breakthrough Prize published by Texas Review
Press (2021), Visionware (Finishing Line Press, 2009) and a forthcoming book of poetry, As to Your
Comment. She is also the editor of Grabbed: Poets and Writers Respond to Sexual Assault,
