Leadership in Place

Presented by NEFLIN and the Florida Library Association Leadership Development Committee

Very often, libraries provide their patrons with the resources and skills they need in order to be successful in their educational pursuits. In order for libraries to be essential to their patrons’ educations, a culture of leadership is essential. Many librarians and staff in today’s libraries have aspirations to be leaders in their careers but find themselves in lower-level positions where their opportunities for leadership are limited. This session aims to show librarians and library staff key qualities that they can adapt to showcase their leadership skills no matter what position they may hold. In addition to individuals developing these key qualities, it is important to plan for building leadership skills development into our personnel and strategic planning for all our staff and even volunteers. Encouraging participation and contributions from all areas of our organizations creates greater engagement and expands possibilities for our future leaders now.

Lunch will be provided.
