Diversity Discussions
Wednesday, January 26, 2022, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
Category: FLA Programs & Events

In the New Year 2022, the Diversity Discussions book group will continue as planned!  Beginning on Wednesday, January 26th at 2 PM, in celebration of February’s African-American History Month, we will host a Zoom discussion for Floating in a Most Peculiar Way by Louis Onuorah Chude-Sokei. This well-received memoir, which People magazine calls "A beautifully told story about displacement and coming-of-age,” relays the unique journey of Chude-Sokai from his African origins, to Jamaica and then on to Los Angeles. It describes the variety of hardships and triumphs that the author experiences as he adapts to his new surroundings.

This book club is open to all FLA members. Books for each discussion were carefully selected to help open up dialogue on topics of diversity and how they may relate to the library workplace. Together, we’ll create a fun and safe book club environment.
