Title: Developing Data Management Support at UF

Description: Starting University-wide research data management conversations requires collaborations among key stakeholders. Key stakeholders include the Office of Research, Research Compliance Office, Information Technology Department, Researchers, Academic Units, and the Library (Erway, 2013). In this webinar on developing data management at the University of Florida (UF), the role as UF’s first Data Management Librarian is explained. Highlights of select collaborations via the UF Data Management and Curation Working Group and Academic Research Consulting Services (ARCS), from training workshops to a data symposium to grant funded project support will be briefly discussed. The support work for grant funded projects includes collaborations with many stakeholders such as UF Office of Research, UF Research Computing, UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), UF Marston Science Library, UF Clinical and Translational Science, UF Center for Environmental & Human Toxicology, UF Informatics Institute, UF Carpentry Club, researchers, and multiple communities of practice. The webinar provides an overall review of the framework with specific examples of data management support and training to the campus community.
