Blowing Off STEaM: Peer Mentorship for Girls in STEM

Based on the success of an existing grant funded STEM teen mentoring program, this session will lead participants through the steps for successfully implementing peer mentoring and STEM programming in their own library. The session will be broken into three main parts: getting buy-in from library leadership and the community for support, recruitment and oversight of teen mentors, and programming topics and activities. We will discuss how the program can be run for a variety of budgets and timelines, including several months or a condensed version over the course of a few weeks.
